Updates on blog design status

May 31, 2011

Hi peeps!
As you can see from sidebar, I'm currently not taking any new orders for time being until I've find a suitable time to start back designing.

Some of you have already know on my current condition. My EDD will be in the end of June. So for time being, I've slowed things down and some of my response to your design process will be a little delay.

I've sent an email to all regarding the current situation.
Please let me know if you haven't received them.

I'm trying my best to complete as many blog designs as I can.
You may view the design work status on the right sidebar as I will update it frequently for your easy reference.
The asterisk (*) means I am currently working on that blog.

Other than that, feel free to drop me an email or tweet me anytime :)
I will try to keep this blog updated with latest works I've done.

Thank you and have a nice day!

Blog design for Mae Cabanon

May 24, 2011

This is my 1st time making illy (illustrations) in detail. Well, quite detail for me because I had to draw all the sewing item from scratch. I never thought making illy is fun!

Initially, Rodzilla, owner of this blog requested for a header with mushrooms and cute little hut but changed it when it doesn't suit her blog as a sewing blog.

Later she specifically requested a header with sewing kits in a room and overlooking an open window and still maintaining the landscape view with the white fence. So I came up with this!

and she loves it at 1st draft! *phew*!

Thank you Rodzilla! It's been a pleasure working with you! :)
Oh I still owe you your business card and watermark :P

Blog design for Cik Wan Kembang

May 19, 2011

Deja vu? Looks familiar? Hehe.. when Sufee 1st requested for blog design, she kept mentioning how much she loves my personal blog's header design (Story of Us). I can't design the exact header for another client but to not disappoint her, I came up with another similar design with almost similar color scheme.

Blog design for Iza Closet

May 15, 2011

I did mention I don't do human illustration right? This is because I haven't really master the skill and I really want it to be unique. So when Iza requested to have an illustration in the header, I suggested her to purchase the item at the istockphoto.com or shuttershock.com. But once I found out about http://www.fotolia.com/, I must say this will be the place for you to purchase illustrations with cheaper price!

Copying other illustration from the web and claim it yours is against the law. Regardless where the source is. If you don't know or not sure about the source is, please don't copy it. Unless you have requested the owner's permission to use the image. Like what I did for http://sewlove.blogspot.com/ where the owl was taken from a craft blog.

Anyway, as for Iza, she purchased this female illustration at fotolia.com for a good price. I trimmed the original image to fit the header. Put some building skyline as the background.

The color scheme was chosen by her and she specifically said pink, purple and white.

Thanks Iza. Been a pleasure working with you. Now I know where I would find SPANX at affordable price :P

Blog design for Didee

May 14, 2011

Just completed this blog 2 days ago when blogger started their maintanence and this new template I've been working on went *poooff!!* almost 2 hours work gone because of blogger decided to do some upgrade on that day. So I have to re-install this template again. *sigh*

Anyway, this is yet another simple design with a header consist of fonts and some illustratrations. Nothing fancy. I just play along with the colors as requested by the client.

Blog design for Hijab Closet

May 09, 2011

Just completed this blog template for Hijab Closet last 2 days ago and only managed to install it last night. That is after I 'accidentally' woke up after falling asleep at 8.30pm! :P

Anyway, this is the 1st round of design for the header and the client already loves it! Only minor changes on the fonts and the menu bar which was there earlier but due to some technicality, it will be installed later.

The color scheme requested were pastels (pink, grey) but I added a touch of green to it. With small white polkadots and pink background. I like to keep the background simple so it won't overpowering the product images sold on this blog.

My advice to business blog out there, do keep your background/blog design simple so your product will stand out. I like to keep the post background white. It's kinda my style and looks clean don't it?

Go ahead visit her blog for the full view of the blog and plenty of choices for hijabs!

How I setup your horizontal menu bar

May 05, 2011

First of all, I would like to thank April of A Mommy's Sweet Design Blog  for letting me use this post for my entry. I must say, she has the exact words on how I would like to explain to you how do I setup your horizontal menu bar.

So what is horizontal menu bar? They are menus located near to your header either on top of your header or below your header.

A Mommy's Sweet Blog Design Button

When customers purchase a blog design from me I often get asked how the links in the menu bars work. When we're ready to install your new design I will need you to send me the links to your menu bar. There are 4 different ways to do this.

1. Link them to Pages
Blogger gives you the ability to create up to 10 pages. To create an "About Me" or "Contact" page this is how:
Log into Blogger and click on "New Posts" then click on "Edit Pages". Create your page then click "Save and Publish". Save this to your sidebar or as blog tabs. You can now visit your blog and click on that link to copy the URL Address for me.

2. Link them to a Blog Post
If you have a Blog Post that you would like me to link in your menu bar then this is how. Click on the Post Title then copy the URL Address at the top.

3. Link them to Labels
When you create a new post you can add Labels to it. You can write anything in the Labels area that refers to your post (example: coupons, Walgreen's, Reviews, Giveaways, etc...) You can add as many labels as you like to one post but be sure to add a comma after each label.
I will use the label Coupon for an example. I can link an item in your menu bar to all posts labeled "Coupon" and this is how you would give me the link. Visit your blog and look for a post that you have labeled Coupon. Click on the label Coupon and copy the URL Address at the top of your page.

4. Link them to another website
Some of you may want to link an item in your menu bar to another website. Just copy the URL Address at the top of that website and email that link to me along with the other links for your menu bar.
